NLP Master Trainer  ·  Author
Creator of The Hümmo Method™

Relief before belief. Twenty-five years certifying NLP practitioners to a rigorous standard — and a decade building a healing protocol any sceptic can use on a Tuesday afternoon.

He trains NLP.
He built something stranger.

Hugh Comerford is one of Canada's most rigorous NLP Master Trainers — and one of the few Canadian representatives in the NLP Leadership Forum. Over 25 years he has certified approximately 250 practitioners to a standard he considers a moral obligation, not a business model.

In 1998 he encountered Denis, an energy healer in Montreal with a gift Hugh couldn't explain and couldn't ignore. He spent the next decade watching, modeling, and eventually reverse-engineering that gift into a self-application protocol any analytically minded person could use without first believing it would work. That became The Hümmo Method.

He is also a former Innovation Facilitator trained in Synectics, co-founder of a behavioural assessment firm (mesh-insights.com), and the author of ten children's fiction books in The Hümmo Stories series.

Subjects he can
go deep on.

Hugh's work sits at the intersection of neuroscience, embodied practice, and what he calls the intelligence of the nervous system. He speaks from hard-won practitioner experience, not theory.

The Hümmo Method: energy healing for the analytically minded
NLP: what it actually is, and why most training falls short
Breath mechanics and emotional regulation
Modeling excellence: how to reverse-engineer a gift
Why presence is a practice, not a destination
Innovation facilitation and creative problem-solving
The science of rapport and second-position empathy
Practical tools for leaders and high-performers

Voices from
the work.

“Hugh doesn't teach NLP. He transmits it. There's a difference, and you feel it in the room.”

“I came as a sceptic. I left with something I'm still integrating two years later.”

The Hümmo Method

Energy Healing For The Rest of Us

The full account of the decade-long modeling project, the five-stage framework, and what happens when you take one of the most extraordinary healing gifts Hugh has ever witnessed and turn it into something a sceptic can use on a Tuesday afternoon.

Built for the analytically minded reader who wants 5–20 minute practices and does not need convincing before they begin. The positioning line says it plainly: relief before belief.

Advance Praise

“It is the best NLP book I’ve ever read.”

“This is a wonderful, beautifully written book; a careful guide to Hugh’s processes of recovery, growth and discovery. Anchored in his personal experience, he guides us in a step-by-step manner that lays a foundation for many of the later presuppositions. He builds the narrative in such a way that his argument is absolutely believable. The installation is elegant.”

“Importantly, Hugh makes an argument for regarding the breath as a separate sensory modality that synchronizes mental and physical functions in a manner often missed in the West. The proposition that breathing acts as a central pattern generator is a fundamental insight into the nature of living systems and a significant contribution to NLP.”

“This is only the second NLP book that I’ve read that has successfully modeled a spiritual practice. The first is Connirae Andreas’s Wholeness process. Here, modeling a gifted healer, Hugh has captured resonances with many spiritual traditions which anchor it firmly into a growing literature of NLP that extend the field into what many would call the spiritual realm. Hugh writes with humility in a clean and understandable manner. This is gentle and approachable and entirely reasonable. It should dispel objections in all but the most hardened reductionists.”

“This is a beautiful book that deserves a wide audience. It is the best NLP book I’ve ever read.”
